Week 8- DST60604 Introduction To Fashion Design

LESSON OF THE WEEK

Week 8 is independent learning week for degree students, hence, we won't have any class this week.

MISSION OF THE WEEK

This week, we need to go for fabric sourcing for our final assignment's tops. Hence, I went to a lot of shops as usual, as it is difficult to find the most suitable fabric in just one shop. The process is quite fun for me as I get to explore lots of different fabrics in actual shops and also get to touch the textures of the fabrics, which is also one of the advantages that I like to go to an actual shop compared to online shopping.
As a result, I purchased nylon polyester fabric, which is one of the best fabrics for sports-themed garments.
Overall experience of the week is that I feel excited during the fabric sourcing process, as I get to imagine what my final outcome looks like and also can't wait to start sewing it. Moreover, I also hope that my tutor will be able to approve the fabrics that I bought.
