Week 2- DST63504 Introduction to Pattern Drafting & Garment Making

LESSON OF THE WEEK

For our first tutorial of the module, we started with doing our first assignment, which is to draw a basic bodice block in size 12 on mahjong paper. Mr. Brian, our tutor, taught us how to draw it step by step. Hence, for the whole lesson of the week, we learnt to draw basic bodice blocks and basic sleeves. As this is the first time for us to draw it, it took a really long time for us to complete one, as it is quite complicated for some steps. 

Moreover, we also learnt how to sew darts by having our tutor demonstrate it to us on fabric as a general idea for our basic bodice block.

MISSION OF THE WEEK

Well, as we complete the basic bodice block in size 12 during the class, hence, for the task, we are required to complete another basic bodice block in size 10, as I already had some experience on how to draw it, it became easier for me to draw the second one. 

Overall experience of the week, I feel frustrated, as the process is complicated for me, and also if I measure wrongly and carelessly in one step, I need to remeasure it again. Moreover, I also feel glad at the same time, as it is a start for my fashion design journey, and I will remember the lesson for future assignment use.
