Week 13- DST60604 Introduction To Fashion Design
LESSON OF THE WEEK
This week, Mr. Daniel began the class by briefing us on the day's agenda, which was a one-to-one consultation session for our fabric board designs. After the consultations, we could continue working on sewing our final tops or other production tasks during the class.
During the consultation, we were required to present our final top designs, along with the selected fabrics and textiles, to give Mr. Daniel a clear idea of our plans. He provided detailed explanations, ensuring I knew exactly what to do for my fabric board. Additionally, he sketched an example of the final fabric board layout on the back of the mounting board to help us remember the composition and layout, as we will be on holiday next week.

MISSION OF THE WEEK
Our mission this week was to complete our fabric board as the final step of this assignment. For mine, I combined various bandage textures and fabrics using an overlock machine, which adds a unique element to my design compared to others. Furthermore, I sewed the numbers 1, 2, and 3 to represent the winners in a competition, aligning with my concept of sports and injuries. Lastly, I added drawings and notes in marker pen to make the fabric board resemble a medical cast. This detail reflects the common practice of writing encouraging messages or drawing cute designs on a patient’s cast to boost their morale and strength during recovery.
The process of this outcome will be shown in week 14.
Overall, this week was exciting, as we reached the final step of our assignment, signaling the approach of the semester break. However, I also started to feel nervous, knowing that we will have to present our work in Week 15, where we’ll showcase our final tops in front of the tutors.
