Week 1- DST60604 Introduction To Fashion Design

LESSON OF THE WEEK

For the first week of the module, our lecturer, Mr. Daniel, who is also our tutor, started the class by briefing all of the assignments of this module in order to let us be alert of what we needed to do and the assignments' timeline. As this is the first class, we don't have anything to submit or show to him as our assignment progresses; hence, he continued the class by explaining all of the categories that are needed to be researched for assignment 1. Moreover, he also taught us about the importance of research, which required us to always do deeper research for our fashion inspiration and concept in order to get a more interesting and special concept, but not just the superficial things that everyone knows.

MISSION OF THE WEEK

Well, for this week, we need to start doing our research compilation, which is also assignment 1, in order to make effective progress so that we can show our progress to Mr. Daniel next week.
 

Furthermore, we need to start to think about an inspiration topic, which will be linked to the rest of the assignments, as in this module, all assignments are linked together. Hence, Mr. Daniel asked us to start our task earlier, so that during garment-making sections, there will be more time for us to do, which will be less stressful.

Overall experience of the week was that I feel nervous and a bit frustated, as I think that the upcoming weeks will be more stressful due to the huge workload for this module.
